Board of Directors- Being on the Board of Directors for any organization requires time, effort and concern. A Director is not only responsible for the direction and growth of the organization but the credibility as well. It has taken us several months to decide on the membership of our Board and we are extremely pleased that those we selected have agreed to serve. A Director receives no compensation, no benefits and no reward other than our deepest gratitude and, most importantly, treasures stored in heaven.
501(C)(3) - Our application required by the Internal Revenue Service for non-profit status is completed- all 28 pages!!!! It will be submitted next week and we request your prayers for its approval. Special thank you to Rick Spencer for checking our Bylaws and offering continuing legal support.
March- This month we are scheduled to sign at several church worship services, a Christian women’s group, a Christian Senior Group, the Calico Rock Prison and the Lion’s club. We are especially looking forward to presenting our ministry to the Lions- this will be our first sectarian appearance and we hope it will open new doors.
If you would like us to appear at your church or organization or if you have any suggestions as to how we can better spread the Gospel through our ministry please contact us.
New DVD – We have purchased our first ‘mechanical license’. This will allow us to create and sell a new DVD. Our intention is to use any money received to further our ministry and to create and maintain a free library of Sign Language books and materials.
Why Do We Enclose an Envelope and Information Card in our Newsletter? – We believe that it is essential for us to communicate with our supporters on a frequent and continuing basis. We are currently mailing well over 100 Newsletters each month. When we first decided to go into ministry we realized that it would be a commitment that would require that we curtail our other activities and looked forward to a time when we could devote full time to God’s work. We knew there would be the usual expenses of any missionary group plus part of our living expenses would have to come from the ministry to supplement the loss in other areas. We sought council from Pastors, relatives and friends. The consensus was that if we were doing God’s work that He would put it on the hearts of those we touched and He would provide. Several people told us that they would be offended if we did not ask them for support. And God has indeed begun providing.
Communication is a two-way street. The information card and envelope make it easier for someone to request additional information, a free DVD and/or addition to our prayer list.
If you would like to be removed from our mailing list you can use the enclosed card or call.
Statistics – Only 2% of the world’s deaf people claim to be Christians.
We welcome your comments and especially your prayers.
